Eoin Ó Broin - Ballybrack
35 year old Eoin Ó Broin is a native of Dún Laoghaire. He has worked full time for Sinn Féin for eleven years. Eoin was elected to Belfast City Council in 2001 and he brings this valuable experience back with him to Ballybrack.
During his years as an elected representative for North Belfast Eoin worked to secure public services, increased youth provision and additional recycling facilities for his constituents. Eoin was part of the Sinn Féin team in North Belfast that played a central role in resolving interface tensions from 2001 to 2003, including the loyalist blockade at Holy Cross primary school in Ardoyne.
Since his return to Dún Laoghaire Eoin has been key to Sinn Féin's housing campaign in the constituency which has sought to highlight the scandalous record of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council's shamefully poor delivery of social and affordable housing.
Since 2004 Eoin has held the position of Director of European Affairs co-ordinating Sinn Féin's lobby operation in Britain. Eoin is a long time member of the party's executive body, the Ard Comhairle.
Sinn Féin has brought a new type of politics to Dublin and Eoin Ó Broin has a proven track record of providing strong progressive representation to the local community. Others promise change, Sinn Féin and Eoin Ó Broin will deliver it.
