Doolan welcomes Lansdowne dealPublished: 8 May, 2007
Sinn Féin's Dublin South East candidate, Cllr. Daithí Doolan, has welcomed the €2.4m compensation deal for the residents affected by the proposed Lansdowne Road Stadium development.
Speaking after the Council meeting this afternoon Cllr. Doolan said:
"I am delighted that the residents can rest assured that they will receive what I believe to be a fair and equitable compensation for the disruption caused by this major development."
Cllr. Doolan outlined:
"The deal totalling €2.44m consists of €1.94m for residents most effected by the disruption and a further €500,000 to be set aside for those other residents who wish to apply for compensation. Separate to this a further €100,000 will be made available on an annual basis to be spent by a community based monitoring group."
In conclusion Cllr. Doolan said:
"I am now happy to urge my Sinn Fein colleagues to endorse the leasing of the Dodder river bank and allow the development to proceed." |
