Gormley living in cloud cuckoo land - Tracey

Sinn Féin's candidate for the South Dublin By-election Shaun Tracey has said the Green Party Leader John Gormley mustn't be canvassing in Dublin South if his claims that his party are receiving a good response are true. Mr. Tracey said, having been canvassing in Dublin South for a number of months now he has not heard a good word said about the Greens and predicted a significant drop in support for the party.

He said, "John Gormley must be living in cloud cuckoo land. Having been canvassing throughout Dublin South for a number of months now I have not heard one good word said about the party. In fact there is a lot of anger out there at the party's role in a Government which has sought to target the most vulnerable sections of society to pay for the economic recession. While most of the anger is targeted at Fianna Fáil the Greens role in Government is certainly not going unnoticed and I predict a significant drop in support for that party in the June elections."
